At Perennials Zone, we nurture every order with the same care we give to our heirloom plants. While we strive to deliver healthy specimens of your chosen Artemesia, Allium, or antique fruit trees, we understand that sometimes a return or exchange may be necessary. Please review our policy below.

Our Return Policy

We accept returns within 15 days of delivery for most plants and gardening products. To be eligible for return:

  • Plants must arrive damaged, diseased, or significantly different from what was ordered
  • Non-plant items must be unused and in original packaging
  • You must provide photographic evidence of the issue (for plants)

Special Considerations for Live Plants

Unlike our antique gardening tools, live plants like Asclepias or Aralia require special handling. Please contact us within 48 hours of delivery for plant-related issues, as their viability decreases rapidly.

Non-Returnable Items

To protect our nursery’s integrity, we cannot accept returns for:

  • Antique plant varieties from our Antiques collection (due to their rarity)
  • Custom or special order plants like certain Apple or Almond cultivars
  • Digital downloads (if offered)
  • Items marked as “final sale”

The Return Process

Follow these steps to return your items:

  1. Contact us at [email protected] within 15 days of delivery with:
    • Your order number
    • Photos of the issue (for plants)
    • Reason for return
  2. Our Garden Stewards will respond within 2 business days with return instructions
  3. For non-plant items: Package securely and ship to our Oakland nursery
  4. For live plants: We’ll guide you through specialized return shipping

Refund Information

Once we receive and inspect your return:

  • Timing: Refunds process within 5-7 business days
  • Method: Funds will be returned to your original payment method (Visa, MasterCard, JCB, or PayPal)
  • Shipping costs: Original shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return results from our error

Exchanges

We’re happy to exchange plants of equal value from our current stock (like swapping Agastache for Aquilegia). Contact us using the return process above, specifying your preferred exchange item.

International Returns

For customers outside the U.S.: Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility, and refunds may exclude any import duties originally paid.

Damaged in Transit?

If your Astrantia or Arborvitae arrives damaged from shipping:

  1. Take photos of the packaging and damaged plant immediately
  2. Contact us within 48 hours
  3. We’ll work with our shipping partners (DHL, FedEx, or EMS) to resolve the issue
