Whether you’re nurturing delicate Anemones or majestic Arborvitae, we want your journey from order to bloom to be seamless. Below you’ll find our shipping and returns policies designed with both plants and plant lovers in mind.

Shipping Information

Order Processing

Our garden stewards carefully prepare each order within 1-2 business days of purchase. During peak seasons, please allow up to 3 business days for processing.

Shipping Methods & Timelines

We offer two shipping options to bring your Artemesia, Allium, and other botanical treasures to your garden:

  • Standard Shipping ($12.95): Via DHL or FedEx, arriving within 10-15 business days after shipment
  • Free Shipping: Available for orders over $50 via EMS, arriving within 15-25 business days after shipment

Note for International Gardeners: We ship worldwide except to certain Asian countries and remote regions. International customers are responsible for any customs duties or import taxes.

Our Returns Policy

While we nurture every plant with care before shipment, we understand that sometimes returns or exchanges are necessary. Our policy reflects the special nature of living plants while ensuring fair treatment for all our customers.

Eligibility

We accept returns within 15 days of delivery for:

  • Plants arriving damaged, diseased, or significantly different from what was ordered
  • Non-plant items unused and in original packaging

Non-Returnable Items

To protect our nursery’s rare collections, we cannot accept returns for:

  • Antique plant varieties from our Antiques collection
  • Custom or special order plants (specific Apple or Almond cultivars)
  • Digital downloads (if offered)
  • Items marked “final sale”

The Return Process

  1. Contact us within 15 days at [email protected] with:
    • Your order number
    • Photos of the issue (for plants)
    • Reason for return
  2. Our Garden Stewards will respond within 2 business days with instructions
  3. For live plants (like Asclepias or Aralia): Contact us within 48 hours and we’ll guide you through specialized return shipping
  4. For non-plant items: Package securely and ship to our Oakland nursery

Refund Information

Once we receive and inspect your return:

  • Timing: Refunds process within 5-7 business days
  • Method: Funds return to your original payment method (Visa, MasterCard, JCB, or PayPal)
  • Shipping costs: Original shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return results from our error

Exchanges

We’re happy to exchange plants of equal value from our current stock (like swapping Agastache for Aquilegia). Contact us using the return process above, specifying your preferred exchange item.

Damaged in Transit?

If your Astrantia or other plants arrive damaged:

  1. Take photos of the packaging and damaged plant immediately
  2. Contact us within 48 hours
  3. We’ll work with our shipping partners (DHL, FedEx, or EMS) to resolve the issue

International Returns

For customers outside the U.S.:

  • Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility
  • Refunds may exclude any import duties originally paid
